Full-Face Helmets to FIA 8859, FIA 8860 or ECE 22.05
FIA 8860 is mandatory in single-seater classes like F1, F2 and F3 – on models such as the Arai GP-7 SRC, BELL HP7 EVO III or Sparco Prime 8860. FIA 8859 is generally sufficient for circuit and rally, as on the BELL Star Classic or OMP GPR. Two models fall outside this: the OMP Circuit 2017 carries only ECE 22.05 approval – a road-helmet standard, not a motorsport homologation, so it's not eligible on the grid in most racing series. The Arai GP-6 PED is homologated to SNELL SA2015 only, without an FIA norm. Check your series' technical regulations or the product page to confirm which homologation your helmet needs.
HANS Anchoring and Intercom in a Full-Face Helmet
On models like the Arai GP-7 SRC, BELL HP7 EVO III, Schuberth SP1 Carbon or Sparco Prime 8860, the HANS clips are factory-fitted or included; the BELL Star Classic, by contrast, is only HANS-ready, with no clips in the box. Several Stilo full-face helmets like the ST5R or the Venti WRX series also come with a factory-integrated intercom for communication with your co-driver.
