FIA homologation: not every model is certified
Some of the racing seats in this category are FIA-homologated – mostly to FIA 8855-1999, with a few models certified to 8862-2009 or 8855-2021 – shown on the homologation label with its manufacturing date. This certification is time-limited and is often required for competition use. Other models, such as the Recaro Pole Position (ABE), are road-legal (ABE) instead, but not FIA-homologated. Always check the details on the individual product page before you buy.
Brands, materials and mounting
In the range you’ll find racing seats from Sparco, OMP, Sabelt, Recaro and Momo – from lightweight fibreglass shells to carbon shells for minimum weight. For a secure installation you’ll need a vehicle-specific console and side mount, available in seat mounts.
