CMR2016 or FIA 8878-2024: Which Standard Fits?
CMR2016 is mandated by the CIK/FIA for children and juniors up to 15 and approved up to age 18 – models like the Sparco Karting Helmet Stealth-CMR or the Stilo Helmet ST5-CMR carry this homologation. For adult kart racing, the current FIA standard is 8878-2024, used on models like the BELL Helmet RS7-K or Sparco Karting Helmet Stealth-K. Not every helmet in our range is kart-specific homologated – some models, like the OMP Helmet Circuit Evo 2, are approved to the general road-helmet standard ECE 22.06 instead. The exact homologation is always listed on the individual product page.
Lightweight Shells, Ventilation, Visibility
Depending on the model, shells are built from fiberglass composite or a carbon, Kevlar and fiberglass mix – with up to 14 channeled vents for cooling in the heat of the kart cockpit. Anti-fog visors with Pinlock preparation, double-D-ring or quick-release fasteners, and a generous field of view keep you safe and aware on track.
